Chakarasana



Chakarasana
The back is twisted in such a way that the body shapes
The back is twisted in such a way that the body shapes a semicircular shape as like dhanush in this asana; therefore this asana is called ' Chakrasana'. It is similar to a rainbow. This asana is very alike to the same, except for while doing a back bend, the person is standing and keeps banding additional back till his palms relax on the floor while in the asana, the person is lying down and slowly lifts up his body.

Technique of chakarasana:
  1. First lie flat on the back and then draw the legs in till the heels are close to the hips and the soles touch the ground. 
  2. Do the gap between the legs 4 to 6 inches.
  3. After that, bend the arms at the elbows and place them on the ground on either side of the head.
  4. Lift up the body from the waist to the hind part of the head and take breaths in the normal way.
  5. Tilt the head backwards to the extent that possible. Stay the hands straight.
  6. Maintain the body steady.
  7. The arms or the legs should not be shifted either from their positions.
  8. Move up the back as much as it allows it to do.
  9. Stay in this position for about minutes.
  10. To let go, breathe in and slowly curve the elbows to lower the head, neck and then shoulders to the floor. Bow the knees to slowly roll the spine and hips back to the floor and take it to the original position. Then inhale normally.

  1. This asana make the abdominal muscles strong.

  3. This asana minimizes the stiffness of spine and make the nerves strong.
  4. It ends pain of the body.
  5. The spine is made flexible by the practice of this asana.
  6. The heart is worked well by regular exercise of chakarasana.
  7. This asana cure many types of disease as like asthama, constipation, diabetes, and obesity.
