Dipawali is not a festival of light in order that we may light candles, sparklers and fireworks. Certain, these are magnificent ways of communicating our gaiety. But, they are not the only or true signifying of "light." Diwali is a festival which dismisses the darkness of our unawareness; it is a festival of the light that explains us the way on our trip through life. The reason is not to worship the light of the candle, or the light of the rocket. The reason is to worship the light of God. It is He who gives the actual light, the everlasting light upon the dimness of this ordinary world.
