The liver is a big, muscular organ that be seated on the right side of the belly. Weighing about 3 pounds, the liver is ruddy-brown in color and charges rubbery to the touch. Generally you can't think the liver, as it's protected by the rib cage.
The liver has two big sections, named the right and the left lobes. The gallbladder is seated under the liver, along with parts of the intestines and pancreas. The liver and these organs do work together to absorb, digest and process food.
